Hello world,
Today’s post is a simple one. I wanted to give the orange Zara trousers a different spin to a previous post with them. This one is much more casual and everyday wear, and I thought I’d team it up with a classic white blazer as they are very much on trend right now.
As it was in a previous post, the emphasis of the outfit is on the bright colour of the trousers, but this time I thought I’d keep everything else very neutral. The striped Breton was an added touch to make sure my upper half isn’t washed out.
The accessories are very simple; just my modified H&M necklace from a couple of years ago and my Hermès Collier de Chien cuff. The pumps are a very old, and rather dirty, I’m ashamed to admit, pair of River Island ballerina flats that go with absolutely everything!
I loved the time of morning that I shot this at. It was about half an hour after dawn and Greenwich was a haze of orange light from the rising sun. It not only was a beautiful sight to see, but also made some great photos. There was a thick fog hanging around the city, which made the shot below even more beautiful as you just see the tips of the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf rising out of the haze.
The week that I shot these images was a bit of hilarious one. Due to a combination of pollution from continental Europe, Saharan sand and dust having travelled north and sheer luck we ended up with a thick smog hanging over London and most of England for over a week. Needless to say, people completely freaked out, the tabloids treated it like Armageddon was on its way and people were so afraid they kept their kids indoors. This is all rather ironic, since London was and to an extent is still known as the ‘Big Smoke’ or ‘Schmoke’ if you’re trying to say it in an East London accent. Frankly, for a city that for a long time was known for its smog, this overreaction was a bit odd. Either way, the smog faded and everyone calmed down again.
So what do you think of this simplistic ‘Look of the Day’? It’s not as elaborate as my usual ones, but I thought I’d try something more casual. Don’t worry though, the over-the-top shoots will be back again on Saturday. 🙂
As always, let me know what you think, what you liked or disliked. I love to hear your opinions.
