Hello world,
The images of the Louis Vuitton ‘city’ bags collection starring Michelle Williams has been released, and they’re gorgeous. Styled by Carine Roitfeld and shot by Peter Lindbergh, the images are clean and bold, with the emphasis on black, white, nude and red. They perfectly match Michelle’s classic style, so I’ve gotta give kudos to Carine for that.
Now I’m quite excited about this new collection. I’ve never been that big a fan of Louis Vuitton handbags, even though my first designer handbag purchase all those years ago was a bronze Mahina XL. I personally hate the classic Louis Vuitton pattern, the Monogram Canvas and the traditional check pattern, but when they do bags without the trademark check and interesting styles I actually quite like them.
The new collections sees an updated versions of the Alma, the Capucine and the Lockit; and as expected I find myself drawn to the red Capucine of the first image. I might even consider buying one.

This is Michelle Williams’ second time promoting Louis Vuitton, with her debut collaboration for autumn/winter 2013 being just last September. It was also shot by Peter Lindbergh, and even though her close friend, Marc Jacobs, has left the brand, I’ve got a feeling we’re going to see more campaigns with Michelle Williams and Louis Vuitton.
So what do you think of the images? Do they entice you to buy any of the new bags? If you’re interested, the images will debut in the May 2014 issues of fashion magazines.
Until then,
Franzi
