Hello world,
Today’s ‘Look of the Day’ was shot at Crystal Palace, a big and really nice park close enough to where I live. It’s also the first time that my son will be joining me in the shoot as my fiancé couldn’t mind him on the day, so that’s an added bonus.
I’ve been wanting to shoot here in the park for quite some time as they have these lovely brick alcoves on which the old crystal palace used to sit before it burnt down in the 1930’s. It’s also where the park got its name from and it was the home to Crystal Palace FC for many years before they moved down to Selhurst. In its place is now a massive Athletics Centre and fantastic gym, but that’s getting off topic. For anyone living in south London, this place is a bit of a staple to visit and that’s why I wanted to incorporate the park into this blog. Because as the years go on, I’m finding that this blog is as much about the beauty and wonder of London as it is the fashion I portray. So here’s my little homage to a great park.
I’m falling in love with my Chanel 2.55 again, after going off the bag for a good year or two. It’s the perfect size, it’s in a classic shade like black and goes with absolutely everything! This outfit is quite preppy, so the bag fits into this reworked fifties style very well.
The jumper (or sweater for those with American English) is one from Kenzo, and it might be a it cliché to have a blogger wearing a Kenzo jumper, I just loved it and had to get it. I might be a little late on the scene to show it on my blog, but I was gone for two years so some of my clothes are a little old. Anyway, when I bought the black midi skirt from H&M and wore it in this post, I knew I had to pair it with the Kenzo jumper. I added a crisp white shirt that was borrowed from my fiancé for the outfit, and I think it looks really great together.
My son loves getting his picture taken. For a one-year old he’s quite vain already and he only has to hear the click of a camera and he’s already staring at it. It’s quite annoying when you’re trying to take candid photos of him, but it’s also quite cute. Here he’s delighted to be in my arms after being forgotten about for 15 minutes.
The belt is a vintage snakeskin belt I picked up in Beyond Retro many years ago and has been featured quite heavily on this blog, and the rings are from H&M. I’m quite new to this idea of stacked rings, but I think they look quite cute and they’re growing on me.
The choker is Versace for H&M, and I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve worn it on the blog. I love it, even if it can get bit uncomfortable, so I was quite surprised it had never featured before. I think it adds an unusual touch to the outfit and fits in well with the tiger jumper.
The shoes below are my new patent black Valentino Rockstud, which I am absolutely in love with! It took a bit to get them, as I had to order them from Neiman Marcus in America, but I’m glad I did.
