A big theme for this season’s ‘The September Issue’ is a focus on the different fashion eras that I will be covering this season. And a fashion era that is popping up throughout the runways is the 1920’s.
In a way it’s incredibly cyclical that the twenties are back in fashion as it mirrors so much of our own experience this year. We are also coming out of a big pandemic, eager to return to normalcy and enjoy life once more.
But, I didn’t just want to give an absolute homage to the era, but give it a modern twist. This was done by layering slip dresses to create new lines and juxtapositions. It was about taking oversized long wool coats, modern accessories and high heels into the mix.
Capture the essence of the 1920’s, by focusing on silk slip dresses, but give them a modern twist.
