This is the last of my Christmas party themed shoots that I shot back in October and November and for this shoot I went back to the jumpsuit as a key party outfit. This jumpsuit is sequined though, so not only am I hitting the glitter trend for the party season, I’m also doing it in a jumpsuit. This is what you call hitting many trends in one go.
So where else can I do a shoot with a very sparkly all-body outfit than the Mall facing Buckingham Palace? It may not be as regal as the last shoot at the Peace Pagoda, but it’s about as ostentatious as much of the finery found in the architecture and the palace behind me.
There really is no-where that encapsulates the love the British have for their monarchy than the royal parade known as the Mall, with the classical architecture, the copious amounts of British flags and the regal-ness of Buckingham Palace in the background. I may not be British, but even I have to love the pomp and the grandeur of the entire scene.
So a little bit about the outfit. The jumpsuit is a fabulous piece by ASOS, that I only realised was sequined on one side when it was delivered so that was a bit of a surprise. whenever I wore it out, I never wanted to stand in profile to someone because I felt a little self conscious about the back, but despite the flaw it is a gorgeous outfit. This is also the first time I got to wear my new Christian Louboutin pigalle 120mm heels and while they’ve been published on this blog before this post, in chronological order this was the first time. The clutch is an oldie from Zara and probably the only clutch I consistently use over and over again. As for accessories, I only added a skinny gold belt to accentuate the waist and kept everything else sparse, because with a jumpsuit like this do you really need jewellery?
