The Shoot

The Shoot: Lolita Striped

Hello world,

This is just a small ‘Look of the Day’ shoot, that was heavily inspired by Lana del Rey. I love her 50’s girlish style and when I spotted this striped pencil skirt I knew exactly what I wanted to shoot it with. IMG_8514 copy

This is just a simple shoot on my bed, as I wanted the focus to be on the striped skirt and the bold red necklace. A busy background would have just taken away from the two contrasting colours and I love that the main emphasis on this shoot is white. Plus I look really pale, but for once it looks good!

The bralet is from H&M Trend, and I shot it already in the Sequins and Waterfalls shoot here.

Just a close-up of the necklace. I’ve had this baby for about four years, ever since the H&M for Lanvin collection came out, but I’ve never gotten the opportunity to wear it. I’m loving how I’m lately just finding all these amazing pieces in my wardrobe that I’d completely forgotten I own. It might have had something to do with the fact that it stank for the first year after I bought it, whether it was the glue or the paint coating the necklace, I’m quite sure but that might have been a reason why I never wore it. I do remember, even wanting to sell it on eBay and taking the picture for it, but thank God i never went through with it, as it’s such a unique piece now. Plus, when do you ever see a red necklace around?

I love this image above. I tweaked on it so long on Photoshop it just ended up this white mess, but I strangely like it. You can’t see a thing of what I’m wearing, and my nose seems to have disappeared into the white light, but I think it looks funny so I had to put it up.IMG_8496 copySkirt: H&M (current season)
