Hello world,
This is a bit of a shocker for me, but these latest images of Agyness Deyn for British Vogue; she actually looks pretty in them!
Now I’m usually not a fan of Miss Deyn. When she first burst onto the scene, the whole androgeny scene that was going on in fashion was so not what I was interested in it, and because she was seen as the queen of this style she naturally took the flak. I also found she photographs quite harshly with her strong chin, but when I came across these images I was quite surprised at how soft she can look!
The shoot is from the May issue of British Vogue and is entitled, ‘White Mischief’, which is quite apt considering it is focusing on spring’s obsession with dainty white creations as seen on the catwalks of Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta, Alexander McQueen and Nina Ricci. Flowing, soft and incredibly romantic, Agyness at first thought doesn’t sound like the best match for such a shoot, but I must say she pulled it off well.
Shot in the Namibian desert, in a ghost town abandoned since 1954, these shots were done by Tim Walker and is everything that I love about the fashion direction of British Vogue.
Here are some more images to drool over.
Until then,
Franzi
