Haute Couture A/W 2010/11 – Armani Privé

Hello world,

Armani Privé’s haute couture collection for autumn/winter 2010/11 debuted in Paris yesterday, and while it may not get as much celebrity or press attention as the likes of Elie Saab, Chanel or Christian Dior, for me it never fails to disappoint. Georgio Armani in my opinion has always been the king of understated luxury and glamour, with clean minimalistic lines and a love for basic colours.

This season, his theme is a “play on amber” and all its many hues from glistening gold, to rich ochres and golden tans. And as usual it was sharp, beginning with tailored suits and assortment work-wear and ending with rich and heavily embellished dresses that are structured and cool.

Here are my favourite pieces of a rich collection that I absolutely adore!

Fresh out of college with an MA in Journalism, a passion for clothes, fashion and styling shoots, I was also the fashion editor of a magazine my colleagues and I set up called SCOPE magazine, which was disbanded three years ago. For now I'm just a freelance journalist and blogger.
Other than obsessing about fashion, I love theology and history, writing apocalyptic fiction (it's weird, I know!) and the occasional weeekend of horse-riding if I have the time and I don't injure myself in the process.
