by thefashionnomadon 28, May, 201528, May, 2015Leave a Comment on The Throwback: Basic Instinct

This shoot dates all the way back to May 2012 when I tried out the white minimalist look. The suit jacket and skirt combo were a fantastic set from H&M Trend, back when their Trend collection was still amazing and pretty far-out there when it comes to high street fashion. …

The Throwback: Summertime Sadness

This week’s The Throwback is from a recent post; we’re going all the way back to April 2014! Shocking as it is, I do really love this post as it was one of the first shoots I done after the birth of my son that I really loved. It took me …

The Throwback: Purple Wisteria

This post came about as a complete accident. I was scouting for another shoot in a local park when I came across this garden with the purple wisteria flowering. It was absolutely beautiful and I knew I would only have a short space of time before the flowers would wilt …

The Throwback: The Jewel of the Swampland

Today’s The Throwback goes all the way back to the summer of 2011 and the first few months of living in London. Back then I lived in north-west London and had the lovely Brent Reservoir just down the road from me. This shoot here was the first time I consciously chose …

The Throwback: In Full Bloom

by thefashionnomadupdated on 18, April, 201523, April, 2015Leave a Comment on The Throwback: In Full Bloom

Spring has finally arrived, and after the bitterly cold winter we had here in London this winter it really couldn’t be more welcome. So what better way to celebrate the blossoming of all things new, than to do a throwback image celebrating everything floral. This shoot here was actually done …

The Throwback: Sound of the Underground, Baker Street

I remember when I first moved to London how absolutely fascinated I was by the history of the city, but most of all by the history of the London underground. By now it’s over 150 years old, and the cool thing about it, is that there are stations and sections …

The Throwback: Mary’s World

by thefashionnomadupdated on 19, November, 201420, November, 2014Leave a Comment on The Throwback: Mary’s World

I love how cyclical fashion is. When this dress came out, Mary Katrantzou was the British fashion designer of the moment and her previous two collections were released with great fanfare and reviews. Then in 2011 it was announced she would do a collaboration with Topshop and the fashion world …

The Throwback: Black Swan

by thefashionnomadupdated on 10, November, 201413, November, 2014Leave a Comment on The Throwback: Black Swan

The shoot that this image is from is the first shoot done for the blog where I tried to conceptualise a vision and an editorial shoot that was about more than just street style photography. Before, all my shoots were mostly about pretty outfits shot in a standard location. This …

The Throwback: Ice Ice Baby

by thefashionnomadupdated on 30, October, 20146, November, 2014Leave a Comment on The Throwback: Ice Ice Baby

It’s become a bit of a pattern on my blog; shoots that have very little planning beforehand or are changed at the last minute often end up my favourites of the shoots done. This is another example of a shoot done at Ally Pally one afternoon, before the days of …

The Throwback: Burn Baby Burn

This week’s ‘The Throwback’ is going back to the earliest days of my blog, all the way back to May 2011. This photo was taken when we visited the place I grew up in Ireland; Donegal on a quick trip before I made my big move to London. It’s particularly …
