Style the Trends: Y2K

Some of these trends may seem a little scary and imposing when you intially see them on the runways. I’ve decided to create this series where I break down a trend from the runway and style them using high street items. And the kicker is, it needs to be affordable and under £150. Because we shouldn’t have to rely on ridiculously expensive items the whole time.

For this post, I’m focusing on the Y2K trend, popularised on TikTok by Gen Z, and for anyone over the age of 21, it might very well look way too young for you. But that doesn’t mean, there isn’t something cute in the trend for everyone. Whether it’s a focus on pastel shades, beaded jewellery or cropped tops, this doesn’t have to be a scary trend. Below is an outfit I’ve curated, all for under £150 with items found on the high street. Happy shopping!

Total cost of the outfit is £133.
