Flossing is the new trend on the block. Born out of the cut-out trend we’ve been seeing for the last 2 seasons; it’s taken that concept and added extra long straps for tying around the body to the mix. The name itself, comes from how narrow the straps are; sometimes feeling little more than the thickness of floss string. And that’s what makes this trend so cool. But it’s also a bit of a brave trend to take on. Combined with unusual cut-outs, this is not the trend to be worn walking to the shops, or even the office for the most part.
There are tame versions of this trend all over the high street, and usually a much more approachable way of wearing the flossing trend. But, as is in true Franzi fashion; I wanted to go all in.
I combined this trend here with the monochrome look that is also becoming more popular for autumn/winter. By layering my cut-outs tops in different colours, it added a new dimension.
The shoot itself was done on the English south coast on a day-trip down to Camber Sands and the town of Rye in 30 degree heat. And while that might seem like the perfect day to do a shoot on the beach; it was actually quite hard because I was sweating my make-up off so quickly. I had to stop every 10 minutes to dab my face dry, because otherwise I would have looked like a glistening, sweaty mess.
Overall, the results are beautiful, even if I did get a little sun-burned and lugging heavy gear up and down the sand dunes was an absolute nightmare. But that’s the things I’ll do in the name of a good shoot. 🙂
