The Shoot

The Shoot: Floral Overload, part 1

Florals for spring, how groundbreaking! Well, it might be a little cliche, but nothing is more fun than wearing such a bright and happy print for when the flowers are blooming and the weather is at its best. So, while florals may not exactly be revolutionary in terms of fashion trends, that doesn’t mean you can’t find new and innovative ways of presenting and wearing them. Florals may come around every year like clockwork, but with a bit of creativity and a mixture of different styles and fabrics you can pull off something pretty cool.

The inspiration behind this outfit was Richard Quinn for spring/summer 2020. He showcased massively bold floral print dresses and mixed them with over-the-knee boots, latex and high turtlenecks. I loved the juxtaposition of the dominatrix-style pieces with something so sweet as floral gowns. I knew I had to mke my own version of this outfit.

The outfit isn’t very practical and everyday, but it’s one of my favourite things to do for shoots, where you turn an everyday trend into something more editorial.
