It’s interesting, how the hottest colour for spring/summer this season doesn’t suit my skin-tone at all. I’m talking about the colour beige, and frankly it’s quite annoying. I used to love bright colours and prints when I was younger, but I’m really being drawn to the more neutral colours now. As a result, I’m kinda loving the beige, linen dress and straw bag trend. It’s light and versatile; means I won’t sweat too much, and still very in fashion. But the vast majority of it, doesn’t suit me. I’m too sallow, too pale, too blonde.
So, how do I make it work for me? Read on below to find out.
Despite the fact that I know beige doesn’t work as well with me, I knew I just had to have this dress. I spotted it on the ASOS website and absolutely fell in love with it The ruching, the fact that linen was used, how it’s half a wrap dress and how it falls so beautifully off one shoulder. And I just had to have it. But it does make me look quite pale. I know that, and I learned that the hard way. So, I could leave the linen dress, or just find a way to make it work for me.
I thought, the best thing to do is just to lean into my paleness, and wear my hair loose and blonde. I teamed it with this beautiful round raffia straw bag and these black canvas espadrilles wedges. I decided to create an outfit that was very loose and relaxed and summery. It could be something you wear to the beach, on a Saturday, or just when you want to evoke some exotic locale with lots of sand.
This outfit is perfect for a day to the beach or a hot destination.
