The Everyday Shoot: Mint Shorts Suit

Want to find a new way of wearing office-wear that is both fashionable and not boring? Have you found your office-wear so dull, thick and heavy for these hot summer months? It’s an issue I face almost every morning, when I stare into my closet and figure out what I would wear each day. I work in a part of London that is very business-orientated and formal. Where smart casual, is something done once a month on a Friday instead of every day. Where money and suits is the only thing you’ll see all day. Well I think I may have found something that is both formal enough to wear, but bright and light in fabrics for the hot summer months. This mint shorts suit that are both smart, light and colourful enough for the summer months.

Want to find out, how I styled it? Well then read on. 🙂

Mint is such a hot colour for summer. Usually we’re all for pastel colours in springtime and the bold, bright colours for summer. But not this season. I knew that mint was going to be a colour for summer, but it really didn’t hit its peak and start showing up on Instagram and the high street shops until the summer months. And I’m all for it not just being about the bright colours for once. It’s also fantastic, if you’re looking for a shorts suit that you can still wear into the office.

The shorts are brilliant, because they are long Bermuda shorts with a sharp pleat in the middle to add structure. The blazer is Dad-sized, but still smart enough for meetings. I paired both with a casual t-shirt underneath, but you can easily swap it for a white blouse instead. For the bag, the classic Chanel 2.55 bag in lambskin goes with almost anything. I went for these amazing snakeskin platform sandals, which may not be office-appropriate, but make my legs look ridiculously long and amazing. And I love breaking at least one clothing rule with every workwear outfit I put on. 🙂

Wear with a white top underneath and a pair of heels if you’re short to add height and offset the long straight shorts.
