At least once every summer, I make the effort to post a bikini shoot. Frankly, what would a summer be without swimwear and they’re usually one of the most heavily planned and stylised I do. they’re also incredibly nerve-wracking to do; because unless you’re 17 and a six foot model, you’re gonna be self-conscious about your body. Like so many thousands of other women, I am too. Most of my shoots I can hide behind the clothes a little, but not with this shoot. Here I literally have to let it all hang out and say my body isn’t perfect.
So, yeah a lot of pressure. But that’s not to say it isn’t fun to do them. Often because there’s so little clothes involved, you have to work harder to style the shoot, otherwise it’s just a generic bikini picture. The location has to be carefully chosen, the lighting is incredibly important and most of all you have to make sure you look your absolute best. It’s a lot to take in when you do a shoot, so as you can tell from the pictures, I was concentrating so hard I forgot to crack a smile. 🙂
In the end I am proud of them, even if I do think I need to lose more weight and relax my face a little. The location was the mixed bathing pond at Hampstead Heath and the most gorgeous little pier to jump off of. The style for the shoot is, you guessed it, tropical prints. What can I say, I have a style I like! But to be serious now, the print on this New Look bikini is just divine and even though the bottoms are high waist, they didn’t shorten my legs and I could hide some of my stomach behind them. Yay!
So let me know what you think of the shoot.
