Disclaimer: This post is incredibly delayed; we’re talking several months here, but to be honest I had completely forgotten I had filmed and shot this series. So my sincere apologies for putting up a post with items that will be a little hard to find.
Now that we have that out of the way, let me talk to you about why I shot this video for YouTube and done this studio shoot. As the video goes into more detail, I wanted to create a capsule collection made up of 10 key items that can be styled 10 different ways to create the perfect autumn/winter wardrobe.
I am someone who has never really been very good at creating a cohesive wardrobe; I buy things I fall in love with, but oftyen apart from that one outfit, cannot style it into the rest of my wardrobe. This season for the start of the autumn/winter season, I made a deliberate choice to create a cohesive wardrobe and buy it all in one go, so it would not take several months to create.
Usually I buy things haphazardly, and it takes a while until a wardrobe is assembled. I wanted to have everything up-front so the clothes I would need for the new season were already sorted. It was quite easy for me, as I knew exactly what I wanted to wear, and what trends I would be following. I loved the Bottega Veneta/Old Celine/80’s suit dressing to be my inspiration. My colour scheme was sorted, and because I had those figured out before I purchased my first item it became incredibly easy to create a cohesive wardrobe. I also knew what was in my wardrobe, so all I had to do was buy key items and fill in the gaps, so to say. As a result, I could draw on past season items that fit into my theme and style, organise what bags and accessories would work for these outfits, and only buy the things I really wanted and needed.
So, why not watch the video below and see how I picked these items and how I styled them into the 10 outfits you see below.
Awesome post! Keep up the great work! 🙂
Thank you very much! I definitely will keep trying. I’m glad you loved the post. 🙂
