What makes the December issue of the high fashion magazines extra special, is that their editorial shoots are usually more than the usual shoots you get throughout the year. Maybe it has something to do with partywear season, or the fact that the latest couture shows start in January, but you always find elaborate shoots in the Christmas edition of your favourite magazine.
That is what I tried to convey with this series of editorial shoots for my own The Christmas Issue. Though the clothes may not be couture, the production, location and outfit choices are much more in line with a couture shoot found in Harper’s Bazaar over the Christmas season.Â
The idea behind it was a toughened-up princess roaming palace gardens over the Christmas period, a rocker rebel in beautiful dresses. Each outfit has accents of embellished detailing, beautiful fabrics and a militaristic vibe to each outfit. Â
So, for the second outfit, we went for this amazing tiered tulle skirt from Kikiriki, and paired it with a pair of combat boots and denim military jacket to tie to military vibe of the entire series. This shoot was shot in the East Front Gardens in Hampton Court, which has got to be the grandest royal palace in the London area, and perfectly fit the aesthetic of this shoot.
