And I’m back! I thought about having a winter hiatus again this year, because who wants to be doing shoots in the middle of November in 3C weather at 6 in the morning? And honestly, my real life and job are busy enough to keep me busy throughout the winter, but somehow I didn’t feel as burned out by the end of September as I did last year; and even better there were still ideas for shoots that I wanted to do before the year was out.
So about two months after my last shoot, on a freezing November morning, I made my way to One New Change, right next to St. Paul’s cathedral and done another shoot. I’m quite delighted with myself that I actually managed to do a shoot again, and not only that, but three days later I went and we done a couple of shoots in Brighton for the blog, so you know I won’t be disappearing for another few weeks. 🙂
This is both a location and set of boots that I’ve been meaning to shoot for quite a few months now. In a way it’s quite fortuitous that I waited until a winter’s morning to do the shoot on the rooftop terrace of the shopping centre One New change, as security there is tight and trying to get permits to shoot there is an absolute nightmare. The other lucky aspect to this shoot, is the fact that these boots were still in stock when I got them, even though they had been on the ASOS website for months.
The styling for this shoot was quite simple as I wanted the primary focus to be on the patent bright red boots, so this mohair blend long jumper from H&M Trend was perfect, in not only being very warm, but also a lovely dark grey shade. I accessorised with this brilliant Versace for H&M choker necklace, that somehow’s come back into fashion and my Tiffany & Co. and Hermès bangles. the outfit is finished off with a plain lacy black slip under the jumper and the outfit is complete.
Can I also add, that while the shots are lovely and St. Paul’s cathedral is beautiful in the dawn sunlight, doing a shoot in 3 degrees Celsius is no easy feat!
