The Shoot

The Shoot: Killer Dressing

Hello world,

I’ve always been a fan of leather. It goes back to my days of being in heavy metal and rock music as a teenager and ever since I got my first leather jacket, I’ve just fallen in love with the material. I don’t wear it as often anymore, partially because it’s not that practical a material, but then again fashion is not always about practicality.

Leather is all over the high street this season and it comes in everything from long leather trench coats to leather dresses and skirts. So when I saw the prevalence for leather, I knew I had to do a shoot with it, and this dress was just perfect.

The one thing you do have to watch out for is that it doesn’t end of looking too S&M. I’ve a son now, so walking around in long leather gloves and all the bondage gear, isn’t exactly that great an idea, so I decided to downplay all the accessories for this dress and just let the dress do the talking. All it needs is a silver necklace, a bangle here and a ring there, some trusty silver courts and my new Chanel Le Boy. I decided to go for very heavy eye make-up to compliment the dress and slick my hair back. So now, I not only showcased the dress, but I created a new style; killer dressing. It’s not quite S&M, but it’s got an edge to it most of my usual outfits wouldn’t have and I have to say I really like it!
