The Shoot

The Shoot: Urban Jungle

Hello world,

I love getting up first thing in the morning to do shoots; you would honestly think that having to get up at an ungodly hour to start prep and leave the house before it’s even properly bright would be horrible, but it’s not. Sure, pulling myself out of bed while my fiancĂ© is fast asleep next to me is a bit hard, but there’s something invigorating about being up before most people in the city. There’s a beauty to watching the sun rise and having the city all to yourself. It’s one of the few times that this city feels peaceful.

So as you can imagine, shooting so early is always a joy and far more relaxing than it would be if done a few hours later.

IMG_0130 IMG_0132 IMG_0107The theme of this shoot is the urban jungle and the mixture of the wild tropical prints with the vast glass and concrete structures around city hall. It’s meant to be a juxtaposition of the two ideas, and it honestly fits the idea ‘urban jungle’ much better than its original meaning. The added bonus to shooting around modern office buildings and skyscrapers is that the green of the outfit really pops out at you.

I have to say, I’m not the biggest fan of palm prints, but this top and skirt is making me rethink my previous views. I love that the Bershka top is mesh  as it really makes the print stand out, and if there’s one thing that Primark are good at doing is prints. Their clothes might not be the best quality, and their tops are rather plain, but they have some of the best prints on the high street. The added bonus is that this skirt looks far more expensive than it actually was. What more could a girl ask for?
