One of the biggest trends that popped up from this autumn/winter cycle in fashion was the cowgirl trend. Some brands just focused on the western boots, others went mad on gingham and some really focused on the capes worn. But it doesn’t matter which aspect of the trend you liked; cowgirl was the trend of the season.
So you know I had to cover it. And it had to be something different. So off I went and dragged my ass to the furthest reaches of the central line in London and all the way to Epping Forest to do this shoot. And I even managed to find some suitably unusual-looking cows to help out with the shoot. 😂
The shoot will be split up into two blog posts, because I’ve got way too many images to share with you.
This shoot I tried to incorporate some of the more traditional elements of the western girl into the outfit. I incorporated this River Island denim skirt and PrettyLittleThing denim jacket and the ASOS red and white gingham dress underneath. This outfit is much more conservative than my usual fare, but it’s finished off with some heeled ankle boots and a western hat so it doesn’t becomes completely boring. The detailing for this outfit comes from the really cool western choker necklace and the beautiful gold burnished western belt.
Overall the outfit worked quite well, even though the gingham dress had sold out in almost all sizes by the time I ordered it and I had to make a size 16 fit my body. 😋
