You know what makes animal print look even better? Pairing it with more animal print, lol. But honestly, the philosophy of more is better has always been one I’ve held close to my heart in regards to fashion. I do ordinary and plain for so much of my day, when it comes to being truly fashionable, why settle for okay? I dress somewhat smart and conservatively for work, practical and warm for running errands and comfortable for at home. It’s not often I get to dress like this;Â in fact it’s mostly for this blog or a rare night out. So, why would I dress in an ordinary manner?
My husband calls it my peacock moment, and while he teases me for it, and sometimes even shakes his head at some of the outfits I preview to him, it’s honestly fun to go all out with your blog outfits. Why settle for just showing off the hottest print this season (leopard print), if you can’t also show off the second hottest one too (snake print). Plus have you seen these boots?
So let’s go talk about the outfit. The dress is from Zara; and they honestly have such a fantastic range of animal prints this season, in fantastic cuts, prints and fabrics. And none of it looks cheap. While you’ll find leopard print all over the high street and the online retailers too, a lot of them can very easily look cheap and the same. It always seems to be a variation of a short and tight piece of clothing. Now I love my short and tight pieces of clothing (see the next shoot to be published on this blog, which will literally be this), but for this shoot here I wanted something a bit different. So, Zara came to the rescue with this fabulous long midi-length button-up dress that I can even wear to the office. I left the buttons undone until quite high up my thigh, but who wouldn’t for boots like these? They are PrettyLittleThing, absolutely amazing, and already appearing on quite a few of their social media feeds. And I got myself a pair! Yay! The belt is Gucci, which I’ve had for a while, but surprisingly never featured on this blog before. The last item is my brand new Christian Dior saddle bag in navy canvas, that is my new baby, which just goes with everything! So you’ll be seeing it on this blog quite a bit for the next few months! 🙂
The location for this shoot was outside the side of St. Paul’s Cathedral, which I’ve wanted to shoot for ages, but this shoot taught me quite a bit. Don’t shoot here at midday (way too many people and by God was the sun bright that day!) and get your photographer to stand on the other side of the street, cos that building is big! But otherwise, I’m quite happy with the shoot. The outfit is really what makes it, and that came out amazingly.
