Settling into London

Hello world,

Wow, I’ve been gone from the blogging world for almost a month! It suddenly feels very strange being back in it, and I’ve got a feeling I’ll have to force myself back into it, until it feels normal once more.

For those of you interested, I’ve been in London now for over two weeks and now that the homesickness and terror has mostly gone away, I feel ready to get back into some of the things I used to love in my old life.

London is amazing, as anyone who lives here or has ever visited it, will attest, but it has been a big change. I went from a very settled life with a job and goals and expectations to nothing, and now I’m beginning the long hard slug to creating a life for myself again, so please bear with me if my posts haven’t sounded as cheerful as they used to be.

It also means that I’m afraid I won’t have any new outfit shoots for a while, at least until I find a friend who I can rope into grabbing a few shots of me. There is one outfit shoot I have left, that got done when my mum was over, so I’ll post that in a few days.

On the plus side, I got an interview with a favourite fashion magazine of mine, but I’ll keep it all hush hush until I know more. I also got my amazing new Canon SLR, so there’ll be loads of photos of things I’ve taken over the last couple of weeks up on this blog soon.

Lastly I just wanted to end on a nice note, and stick up a picture from streetstylelondon of the type of style Londoners have. Boy, I’ve got my work cut out for me!

Until then,

P.S. Sorry about the lack of fashion in this post. I promise I’ll be back to normal soon!

Fresh out of college with an MA in Journalism, a passion for clothes, fashion and styling shoots, I was also the fashion editor of a magazine my colleagues and I set up called SCOPE magazine, which was disbanded three years ago. For now I'm just a freelance journalist and blogger.
Other than obsessing about fashion, I love theology and history, writing apocalyptic fiction (it's weird, I know!) and the occasional weeekend of horse-riding if I have the time and I don't injure myself in the process.
