Hello everyone,
So this dress has been everywhere in fashion magazines for months now. In fact, I first spotted it in a Stylist magazine back in early March and I like many others have been waiting patiently for it for months. To add to the annoyance, it featured heavily in ASOS’ summer campaign images so this dress has been promoted heavily since the start of May. You can imagine how irate fashionistas were getting on Instagram when the company refused to tell them when the dress would actually hit the website. Added to that it sold out almost as soon as it dropped, but I managed to get my hands on one in my size, so yay!!!!
So yeah while I’ve known I’ve wanted to shoot this dress for ages, I couldn’t figure out which location it should be shot in. Realistically this dress would still look amazing if it was shot in the middle of a rubbish dump, but I wanted a location that would do it justice and could hold its own against the beauty and intricacy of this dress.
Thankfully I had this idea from a few years ago to do a shoot on the streets with the coloured houses you find in Chelsea and Notting Hill and since the dress is so vibrant it seemed like a perfect fit.
Because there’s so much going on in the dress with the neon colour, the lace, the uneven skirt hem and black straps, I thought all accessories should be black too and kept to a minimum. So the heels are a recent purchase; my Louboutin studded patent heels and my Chanel Boy that I take everywhere. The outfit is finished off with a bouquet of peonies; because it’s June and some extra strong red lippy. Lastly the colours of this shoot were dialled up to the max and the end result is this colourful explosion of fashiony goodness. Oh I just love summer!
