I was a bit of a bold girl today. I went and spent a ridiculous amount of money on a dress today and now I’m feeling kinda sick about it afterwards. But it’s justified, right?
The dress in question is this;
Yep, that’s a dress from the limited Mary Katrantzou for Topshop collection and it cost well in excess of £300. But it’s oh so gorgeous, and the silk fabric is such great quality, not to mention it has the classic lampshade skirt that Katrantzou is famous for. Did I also mention it’s in her most popular print, the one inspired by her autumn/winter 2011 collection?
Well I’m still justifying the spend to myself, and after all the money I spent on the Versace items for H&M, it would be unfair to not give another designer the same amount of my cash. Either way, I can’t wait to wear and style this dress for a ‘Look of the Day’ shoot, though it might be a little difficult at the moment as my lips have swollen to look like someone went overboard with collagen on them (which they didn’t). It doesn’t make me very photogenic though. So keep your eyes peeled for it in the near future.
Lastly, what are your thoughts on the dress and the amount it cost. Do you think I went overboard (and if you are my Mum, I will in no way shape or form tell you what the state of my bank balance is right now ;-p ).

Hey Franzi. I didn’t know you had your own blog! I was wondering about Mary Katrantzou’s collection for Topshop ever since I read about it in Look mag. I’m not a huge fan of prints but I think 300 hundred is a very fair price for a dress from such a designer. keira Knightley wore a really nice one not so long ago.
I think it’s awesome, don’t think this will go out of style any time soon. It’s pretty and classic. I’d ask myself: can you make it yourself? This one is a definite no 😀
